About Me

I created this blog when the intentions of connecting with oddballs, nomads, free spirits, and like minds. I have been on a mission for five years to sell everything and live in a step van and wander the United States.
Health concerns have altered that vision. So now I have to make a new plan, a new world, and a new way of seeing, hearing and creating.

The primary concerns:
A smaller lesser-maintained house that is mostly paid for.
Work fewer hours.
More music (composing, performing).
More photography.
More writing.

For now, you can enjoy some nice pictures I have taken across the United States.
And maybe you can hear some of my music.

I live outside Portland, Maine on the Saco River in a house that is too big for me.
It is too big for me, I can’t take care of it, and don’t care anymore. So I live in a tent inside the house.
I’m weird that way.

I’m a “hack” photographer. I don’t shoot for money, and don’t think I ever want to. I am drawn to landscapes – mostly natural, but often buildings or structures, etc.
If there is a common thread in my photography, it seems to be that my landscapes are just this side of Dreamland. Like you may or may not have just awakened. That’s what I like, that’s what I do.

I’m a “hack” musician. I have only started composing again very recently. I will post a link to Soundcloud soon, and that will allow you to further judge me.
Until that time, I need to find an audio engineer to polish my work. I’m not a studio guy – and may never get my stuff mixed professionally. But I’m hoping one day I can find that person.

I’m a “hack” writer. I used to write a little more, but all the women have left my life – and left me cold and forgotten – so I don’t have Romantic thoughts anymore. My stroke in 2013 just about finished off the rest. My vocabulary is spotty these days, and my increasing memory loss keeps me stumbling for a creative sentence.
Just as well. I suppose there are already enough sentences in the world.

So there.
